What first springs to mind when somebody mentions “luxury watches“? For so many (including us), the argument between Movado and Rolex would be one to keep an eye on. Is today’s world better served by one or the other of these two? Let’s figure it out…
For Luxury Watches, Movado Series 800 Vs. Rolex Datejust
We could’ve chosen any watch of these brands, but we decided to go with Movado Series 800 and the Rolex Datejust, thanks to their popularity
- Movado Series 800
The Series 800 has a 40mm stainless steel casing, sapphire glass, and waterproofing of up to 200 meters. Let me be clear: I’m not saying this isn’t worth your time. The style is timeless and may be paired with any outfit.
There are a few reasons why the steel used in this watch is inferior to many, though. The Series 800 has a quartz movement.
- The Rolex Datejust
Datejust is distinguished by its elegant appearance and use of premium materials. The watch’s stylish and “expensive” appearance is courtesy of the 18k yellow gold and stainless steel jubilee band and white gold crown. The 36mm casing is just the right size.
Some individuals prefer timepieces with bigger face sizes nowadays. Scratch-resistant sapphire glass and an excellently constructed, screw-down crown enhance the watch’s longevity. Because water may get inside the gauge, this would be done.
Deep black is the dominant color of the dial of this timepiece, which makes for an exquisite contrast with the white hands. A high-grade automated, self-winding mechanism is included with the Datejust, as is to be expected.
While you’re ready to buy a wristwatch online, reach for a Rolex when you’re looking for your pocketbook.
